This DPS temporary closure announcement breaks my heart. I’m Monika M. Wahi, MPH, CPH, and you may know me from the following venues:
- I’m an author on LinkedIn Learning
- I’m a co-author of several books and many scientific papers
- I taught nurses at Laboure College, and put my US healthcare system and statistics lectures on YouTube. Many of you have written to me to tell me you benefitted.
- I was a constant presence on LinkedIn, providing free consultations and advice.
- As an academic coach, I helped many of you finish your graduate degree and graduate.
- As a career coach, I helped many of you accelerate your success in your profession.
- I taught a lot of you how to write
This is why I am devastated to announce DPS temporary closure because I have become too disabled to continue working right now.
You may have noticed that over the last year or two, I have been less active on LinkedIn and YouTube. My regular customers have noticed I’ve been sick a lot. The truth is that over 2024, my back and hips have completely deteriorated, and now I am too disabled to work. My pain is literally at level eight or higher all the time, and I can’t sleep. I had to give away my cat to someone else, and can barely take care of myself, because I live alone and away from family.
Therefore, I cannot really serve my customers anymore, or perform the function of a business. I’m also in very bad debt because I’ve been deteriorating all year, and only now am I addressing it by putting the business on hold and changing my income stream to that which supports disabled people who cannot work.
Therefore, as of this blog post, I am announcing that DPS is temporarily closed as of December 31, 2024. I have to put my business on hold while I attend to my health and debt, and try to figure out what to do going forward. Hopefully, this is temporary, and I will open it back up later.
Frequently Asked Questions about DPS Closure
Business Questions
I am a customer who has already paid you for services. What will happen to my payment, and how will I get my services?
Please contact me by e-mail (dethwench at gmail dot com) to discuss. We will make an agreement to ensure you are made whole.
I owe you money for services, and I want to pay you, but I can’t do it before December 31, 2024. What do I do?
Please contact me by e-mail (dethwench at gmail dot com) to discuss, and we will make a payment plan.
What will happen to your course platform?
If you have already purchased a course on the platform, you will still have access. During the time my business is on hold, no one can purchase new courses. I will have to reactivate it in the future for that to happen.
What about your LinkedIn Learning courses?
My courses are currently being updated with new challenges I was able to finish before becoming completely disabled. These are run by LinkedIn Learning, so your access is controlled by them.
Will you be on LinkedIn?
My presence on LinkedIn will be on hold. If you make a friend request, I will eventually accept it when I’m able to work. If you send a message, I will eventually answer it.
Will you be updating YouTube or your other social media, or sending e-mail updates?
I will not be updating YouTube or my other social media or sending e-mail updates until I’m feeling better an can get back in business.
What will happen to your blog?
I plan to keep my blog up, but many of the links might be messed up for a while as they link to business services that are on hold.
I really need your help, even though you are sick. What do I do?
E-mail me (dethwench at gmail dot com) and I’ll try to help even though I’m in bad shape.
What about Ebenezer, your marketing assistant?
He is still in business – contact him for services here.
Personal Questions
I feel very bad for you. How can I help you?
You can donate to me personally to help me with my debt using this link. Also, if you want to make a personal offer of some other type of support, please e-mail me and we will discuss. I need all the help I can get.
What happened to give you such bad back problems?
Childhood abuse made my back grow wrong, and for the last eight years, I’ve been trying to do physical rehabilitation to fix it. However, I have hit a severe snag – instead of being cured, I am now in constant pain. I believe the pain arises from piriformis syndrome. Since abuse is common, debilitating idiopathic back pain is also relatively common in middle aged women – but like many conditions, the US healthcare system is not equipped to address it. You can read the details about what happened to me at the Proxy Project Research Blog.
